Greetings, strategists!

Welcome to the inaugural dev blog for Empires and Embers! This series will dive into the creation process behind my upcoming strategy game, where bold empires rise amidst fierce conflicts. Today, I'm setting the stage by exploring the heart of my game's visual identity.

Stylized Realism: A Grounded Yet Striking Aesthetic

Empires and Embers draws inspiration from both history and the fantastic. With that in mind, I've embraced a 'stylized realism' approach throughout the game's visuals. Think detailed textures, evocative forms, but with a subtle twist of artistic exaggeration. This allows me to convey power and evoke an engaging atmosphere without sacrificing believability.

The Colors of Conflict and Ambition: Red and Black

Red and black will be the pillars of my game's visual language. These colors carry an inherent sense of impact, intensity, and the very duality of my game's themes. Fire – central to the title itself – and iron-forged ambition will be visually reflected across the battlefields and grand halls of your burgeoning empire.

The Birth of a Symbol: Our Emblazoned Shield Logo

I wanted a logo that embodies the core of Empires and Embers: conflict, resilience, and the weight of leadership. After exploring many concepts, I settled on a powerful image - a battered black shield bearing a stylized 'E' emblazoned with embers of a burning ambition. This is more than a logo; it's the mark of your growing influence across the world.

What Comes Next

With the key visual principles established, I'm turning these concepts into reality! My next steps involve honing the look and feel of units, battlefields, and the majestic structures that will symbolize your burgeoning civilization.

Your Thoughts and Feedback
